FILM ENTRY
The 34th SÃO PAULO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL will take place from October 22nd to November 4th 2010. The festival is a non profit cultural event, hold by ABMIC - Associação Brasileira Mostra Internacional de Cinema.

The State and Municipality of São Paulo establish October as the Official month of the Festival. The 34th SÃO PAULO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL will present two sections:

NEW FILMMAKERS COMPETITION
INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE
NEW FILMMAKERS COMPETITION
A competitive section to filmmakers of first or second fiction or documentary features. All films in accordance to the regulation below can take part of the NEW FILMMAKERS COMPETITION selection and will be evaluated by a selection committee. The winners of the NEW FILMMAKERS COMPETITION will receive from MOSTRA the BANDEIRA PAULISTA TROPHY, a creation by acclaimed Brazilian designer TOMIE OHTAKE.
To take part at NEW FILMMAKERS COMPETITION, the film must:
. To be the first or second feature film of the director.
. To be concluded in the year 2010.
. To be 61 minutes long or more.
. To be a Brazilian Première, not being shown at Brazilian territory before the 34th SÃO PAULO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL dates.
To have one print available during the whole period of the festival.
1 - ENTRY FORM
The entries must be formalized by its respective producer or legal representative at
www.mostra.org. The entry will only be considered after all obligated fields are fulfilled.
2 - HOW TO SEND YOUR FILM FOR SELECTION:
The eligible films due to the regulation must be submitted on DVD copy, by regular mail or courier to the Festival’s address. You may submit any number of titles; however, each title must be submitted on a separate entry form.

All costs with transportation as well as importation taxes of any screeners and or any material sent to the festival for selection will be responsibility of the producer and or its legal representative.
3 - DEADLINE
A DVD screener for selection must be sent along with a printed and signed ENTRY-FORM. The deadline for shipping the DVD SCREENER will be August 1st 2010. No entries will be accepted after the deadline. The FESTIVAL does not return any material sent for selection. If applicant wants the material to be returned, he has to provide the festival with a FedEx or any other courier account number. Unclaimed screeners will be recycled.
4 – SELECTION COMMITTEE
A selection committee will decide on entries and confirmation or refusing letters will be sent to the e-mail address of the person who has finalized and signed the entry-form. The Festival reserves the right to move works into a category it deems appropriate.
5 – SHIPPING INFORMATION FOR SELECTED ENTRIES.
The 35mm prints or digital tapes* of the selected films to the NEW FILMMAKERS COMPETITION must be available for the whole period of the Festival, and should be sent to the organization of the festival, by October 1st 2010. The prints will be insured by the organization of the Festival, since the moment the festival receives it from the courier or shipping agent until the moment the festival returns it to the courier or shipping agent.
*for digital screenings, the Festival reserves the right to produce by its own costs, a sub master that will take part of the festival archives. For digital screenings, the Festival will accept the following masters: MINI-DV, DVCAM, DIGIBETA PAL, DIGIBETA NTSC, HDCAM
6 – PUBLICITY MATERIAL
Together with the screener and with the printed entry form, the selection committee needs to receive a CD-Room with the following publicity material:
. Synopsis, casting and technical information.
. 3 high resolution photos/stills of the film.
. 01 high resolution picture of the director(s).
. Complete filmography and biography of the director(s).
. English and original dialog/spotting list of the film.
. Trailer.

INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE
A panorama of the most important and representative production in world cinema in the last two years. Inscriptions of feature length films will be accepted whatever the subject or nationality. International Perspective will be divided into International Section and Brazilian Section and will present fictions, documentaries and animated films. All titles included in INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE will compete for the Audience Award.
To be included in INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE, the film must meet the following criteria:
. To have been produced after January 2009.
. To be 61 minutes long or more.
. Never to have been shown on the commercial circuit in Brazil.
. Never to have been shown in the city of São Paulo.
